DPIIT Secretary Shri Amardeep Bhatia chaired a high-level meeting to assess key challenges impacting mega infrastructure projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Senior officials from Central Ministries, State Governments, and project proponents participated in the discussions, which aimed at accelerating issue resolution through improved inter-ministerial and state-level coordination under the Project Monitoring Group (PMG).
The review covered 21 issues across 14 major projects, including four under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, with a total investment exceeding Rs 13,162 crore. Additionally, seven concerns related to a private project worth Rs 600 crore were examined.
A major focus was placed on the transmission projects of the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat, which, upon completion, is expected to generate around 81 billion units of clean electricity annually and create approximately 15,200 green jobs in construction, engineering, operations, and maintenance.
The expansion of Reliance Jio’s 5G/4G network was also reviewed, highlighting its benefits, such as faster connectivity, low latency, and wider coverage, which will support ultra-HD streaming, IoT advancements, and smart city solutions.
Secretary Bhatia reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening project monitoring mechanisms and urged authorities to take a proactive stance in resolving outstanding issues. He encouraged private sector stakeholders to utilize the PMG platform (https://pmg.dpiit.gov.in/) to streamline project implementation through coordinated efforts between the Central Government, State Authorities, and private entities.
