The appointment of Dr. B.N. Gangadhar as the National Medical Commission’s chairperson
B.N. Gangadhar: Numerous people have been appointed to positions at the National Medical Commission and the Autonomous Boards by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). The appointments are for a term of four years, or until the appointee reaches seventy years of age, whichever comes first. The following are the appointed members:
In accordance with Section 4 of the NMC Act, 2019, Dr. B.N.
Gangadhar, President of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board, is the Chairperson of the National Medical Commission.
As President of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board [in accordance with Section 17(2) of the NMC Act, 2019], Dr. Sanjay Behari is the Director of the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, located in Thiruvananthapuram.
In accordance with Section 17(2) of the NMC Act, 2019, Dr. Anil D’Cruz, Director of Oncology at Apollo Hospital in Mumbai, is a full-time member of the Post-Graduate Medical Education Board.
Additionally, Dr. Rajendra Achyut Badwe, Professor Emeritus at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, has been appointed by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet to the Under-Graduate Medical Education Board as a part-time member for a period of two years, or until he turns seventy years old, whichever comes first.
