Delhi’s DTC buses are now self-reliant with 6,100 EV buses operational, past liabilities cleared, and citizens receiving direct benefits from CM Rekha Gupta’s government.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has highlighted the achievements of the Delhi government, emphasizing how the city’s DTC buses have been transformed from a struggling system into a self-reliant network. She stated that the Delhi Transport Corporation, which was facing a loss of ₹65,000 crore, has now been revived, and 6,100 EV DTC buses are operational across the city.
CM Rekha Gupta emphasized that the government is focused on honest governance rather than credit-seeking. As part of this approach, ₹24 crore has been directly transferred into the accounts of 12,877 beneficiaries, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to public welfare.

Addressing the historical challenges, CM Rekha Gupta said that previous governments left DTC in a crisis, but the current government is not only making the DTC buses self-reliant but also settling past liabilities. She highlighted that in 11 years, no real solutions were implemented, but her government is ensuring timely and transparent action.
Apart from operational reforms, the CM underscored the modernization of DTC infrastructure, including the launch of India’s largest fleet of EV buses. She also announced the construction of a 12-story DTC headquarters worth ₹150 crore, which will enhance management efficiency and service quality.
CM Rekha Gupta further highlighted the government’s focus on gig workers, ensuring their rights, safety, and access to adequate facilities in the changing economy.
