Governor Mangubhai Patel engages with the Saharia community at the Gram Panchayat Chait.
Governor Mangubhai Patel emphasized that education is vital for progress in life and that no individual or society can advance without it. He stressed the need to educate children, urging the Sahariya community to prioritize educating both sons and daughters. The Governor remarked that only through education can the community become part of the broader societal progress. He shared these insights during his interaction with the Sahariya community in Chait Gram Panchayat, Gwalior, on Monday.
Governor Mangubhai Patel also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated Rs. 24,000 crores from the Central government for the overall development of the Sahariya, Bharia, and Baiga communities. This funding will provide essential services like housing, electricity, water, and healthcare. Under the PM Janman Yojana, 11 basic services will be made available through 9 different departments. Efforts are underway to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries benefit from this initiative. The Governor highlighted that both Central and State government welfare programs are actively working to uplift these communities and urged Sahariya families to take advantage of these schemes to improve their living standards. He also reminded the community of historical figures such as Rani Durgavati, Rani Kamalavati, and Birsa Munda, who made significant contributions to society and the nation. Shri Patel encouraged everyone to draw inspiration from these leaders and work towards the advancement of their community.
Governor Mangubhai Patel Inspects House Built Under PM Janman Yojana
Governor Mangubhai Patel visited a house constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana in Gram Panchayat Chait. During his visit, he toured the home of Shri Ajmer Adivasi and closely observed the house, engaging with the beneficiary to discuss the details of the scheme. He also had lunch at Shri Ajmer Adivasi’s residence.
CEO Zila Panchayat Shri Vivek Kumar briefed Governor Shri Patel on the administration’s initiatives for the Sahariya families. These families have benefited from various schemes such as Aadhar Card, Ayushman Card, Ladli Behna, and Ladli Laxmi. Under the PM Janman Yojana, selected beneficiaries have received permanent houses, with additional housing provided through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Furthermore, Anganwadi centers and primary schools have been established in the Gram Panchayat to ensure children have access to education.
