AAP exposes alleged voter list manipulation in Gujarat; over 9 lakh names targeted. Press conference in Ahmedabad urges Election Commission action and voter vigilance.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has exposed alleged irregularities in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Gujarat, raising concerns over attempts to manipulate the voter list. A press conference was held at AAP’s Ahmedabad state office, where party leaders presented audio evidence highlighting suspicious activities in the voter registration system.
Allegations of Mass Removal of Voter Names
Addressing the media, AAP Gujarat President Isudan Gadhvi claimed that a large-scale conspiracy is underway to remove over 9 lakh voter names fraudulently. According to Gadhvi, despite proper verification conducted by BLA-1, BLA-2, and BLO officers across households, BJP leaders and workers allegedly filed around 9,59,000 dubious applications to delete voter names post-verification.
Gadhvi highlighted that several constituencies, including Khambhalia, Bapunagar, Rajkot, and Kutch, reported thousands of simultaneous applications. In Jamkhambhalia alone, nearly 15,000 deletion requests were filed, seemingly targeting 10,000 votes from the assembly. He alleged that many of these applications were made without the knowledge of the voters themselves, particularly targeting opposition supporters and socially active citizens.

AAP Demands Action from the Election Commission
AAP has formally submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission with key demands:
Re-verification of all deletion applications in the presence of opposition representatives.
Strict legal and police action against individuals submitting fraudulent applications and documents.
Minimum 10-day notice for all voters whose names are under deletion requests.
Immediate halt of any political pressure-driven deletions ignoring previous BLO verifications.
Gadhvi warned that if any official illegally alters voter names under political influence, AAP will take legal action against them, escalating the matter to the Supreme Court if necessary.
Call to Citizens
AAP urged all voters in Gujarat to immediately check their names in the voter list. “If anyone notices discrepancies, they must file complaints without delay,” Gadhvi emphasized. As part of the evidence, AAP also released call recordings showing that no application was filed by Dipali Ben, which contradicts claims made in the SIR process.
This press conference highlights AAP’s commitment to ensuring electoral integrity and protecting citizens’ democratic rights amidst concerns over manipulation in the voter registration system.
