The Gujarat CM Relief Fund (CMRF) has provided over Rs 31.55 crore in financial assistance to 2,106 cancer patients from 2021 to 2025, significantly enhancing healthcare access for individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This aid has been instrumental in ensuring that vulnerable sections of society receive life-saving treatments, officials reported on Sunday.
The Gujarat CM Relief Fund has become a vital support mechanism during times of crisis, offering relief to families facing financial distress due to natural disasters, accidents, and serious health conditions. The fund provides financial support for the treatment of critical ailments like cancer, heart disease, kidney and liver failures, and organ transplants, ensuring timely medical intervention for those in need.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the relief fund has played a pivotal role in facilitating urgent medical treatments, including bone marrow transplants. Notably, 450 patients suffering from blood cancer and 1,656 patients battling other forms of cancer have received life-saving interventions thanks to this initiative.
The assistance has been provided to patients receiving treatment at leading healthcare institutions across the state, such as the Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute (GCRI) in Ahmedabad, Nathlal Parekh Cancer Research Institute and B.T. Savani Hospital in Rajkot, Bharat Cancer Hospital, Kiran Multi Super Specialty Hospital in Surat, and AAIHMS.
