CM Pushkar Singh Dhami approves ₹227.73 crore for Haridwar Ganga Corridor, urban projects, and U-CAST/U-SAC DA hike; Rodi Belwala to get major makeover.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved development works worth ₹227.73 crore across Uttarakhand, including ₹59.11 crore for the beautification of the Rodi Belwala area along the Haridwar Ganga Corridor. The approval also covers ₹3.95 crore for the Gairsain Assembly Complex, while nine urban development projects under the Mussoorie-Dehradun and Nainital Development Authorities have been allocated ₹164.67 crore. In addition, the state government has sanctioned enhanced Dearness Allowances (DA) for regular employees of U-CAST and U-SAC autonomous institutions.
Haridwar Ganga Corridor and Rodi Belwala Beautification
Ahead of the upcoming Kumbh Mela, CM Dhami granted financial approval for the Ganga Corridor project in Haridwar, which aims to revamp the Rodi Belwala region. With ₹59.11 crore allocated, the project will enhance the aesthetic appeal of the Ganga banks while improving amenities for tourists and locals alike.

Gairsain Assembly Complex Upgrades
CM Dhami also approved ₹3.95 crore for the second installment of construction work at the Gairsain Assembly Complex in Chamoli. This includes the construction of boundary walls and the main entrance gate, with a total sanctioned cost of ₹9.87 crore.
Urban Development Projects in Mussoorie, Dehradun, and Nainital
Under the Special Assistance Scheme for Capital Investment for 2024–25, the government approved ₹164.67 crore for nine projects under the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority and the Nainital District Development Authority. These initiatives focus on sustainable urban development, infrastructure enhancement, and improved public amenities.
Increased Dearness Allowance for U-CAST & U-SAC Employees
CM Dhami has also approved an increase in the Dearness Allowance for regular employees of U-CAST and U-SAC institutions under the revised 7th Pay Commission. Effective from January 1, 2025, DA will rise to 55%, and from July 1, 2025, it will be increased to 58%. This move aims to improve the financial well-being of autonomous institution employees.
These approvals reflect the Uttarakhand government’s commitment to infrastructure development, urban beautification, and employee welfare. The Haridwar Ganga Corridor project, in particular, is expected to transform the Rodi Belwala area into a major cultural and tourist hub, enhancing the city’s appeal ahead of large-scale religious and tourism events.
