Manoj Sorathiya said Gujarat was deeply disturbed by the Bhavnagar incident, in which around 10 people have reportedly died after consuming suspected spurious liquor. He said an AAP team led by MLA Gopal Italia had visited a hospital in Bhavnagar to meet affected families and express condolences.
According to Sorathiya, the incident should not be viewed only as an isolated spurious liquor case. He alleged that it reflects wider concerns about law and order and the functioning of the state administration.
The party’s allegations represent its political position; claims about crime figures and administrative failures require verification from official records.
Home Minister Held Responsible by AAP
The Harsh Sanghavi resignation demand is based on AAP’s argument that accountability should extend beyond lower-level police personnel. Sorathiya alleged that after serious incidents, action is often taken against junior officials through suspension or transfer, while senior officials and political leadership are not held equally accountable.

During the press conference, Sorathiya referred to several crime-related figures and claimed that serious offences in Gujarat had increased substantially. He also raised concerns about cyber fraud, kidnapping, robbery, murder and rape.
AAP alleged that the state government’s law-and-order machinery has failed to address these concerns effectively. However, the figures cited by the party should be assessed against the latest official crime and government data before being treated as established facts.
