Haryana CM Nayab Saini visits Jalandhar, criticizes Rahul Gandhi over vote theft allegations, comments on Punjab’s law and order, and emphasizes development under PM Modi.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited the sacred Devi Talab Temple in Jalandhar on Friday to participate in a lake cleaning and service program. The event was inaugurated by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, and CM Saini also actively took part in the service activities.
During his address at the holy site, CM Saini targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating, “Rahul Gandhi is frustrated, and that is why he says anything. First, he claims EVMs are rigged, then he says votes are being stolen. I predict that tomorrow he will even claim that Congress itself has been stolen.” Saini emphasized the importance of contributing to the cleanliness and preservation of religious sites, calling it a matter of pride for the citizens.
Punjab’s Situation Worsening, Development Only Under Modi
Earlier in the day, CM Saini campaigned in Tarn Taran for the by-election. Expressing concern over the deteriorating law-and-order situation in Punjab, he labeled the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as a “gang of looters” and stated that Punjab would soon witness a new era of development similar to Haryana. He said, “People across all sections are mentally stressed due to rising crime, including murder, robbery, kidnapping, and extortion, while the police focus more on protecting the government than enforcing law.”

Addressing a rally in support of BJP candidate Harjit Singh Sandhu, Saini claimed that the party would receive massive voter support and teach AAP a lesson for weakening Punjab’s economy. He added that the by-election results would be crucial in determining Punjab’s political future.
BJP vs. Congress and AAP
CM Saini highlighted Haryana’s development achievements under BJP rule, saying, “Every vote for BJP will contribute to Punjab’s growth story. Haryana has been receiving quality services continuously for 11 years. All election promises are being fulfilled. Unlike Congress, BJP does not govern with a mindset of revenge.”
He criticized AAP for aligning with Congress during the Lok Sabha elections, saying, “AAP claims to never compromise with Congress but did so for political gain. In terms of corruption, AAP is four steps ahead of Congress.”
Deep Historical Ties Between Haryana and Punjab
CM Saini also spoke about the historical and cultural bond between Haryana and Punjab. “Punjab and Haryana were once a single state sharing language and lifestyle. Haryana has traditionally been Punjab’s younger brother, and I hope Punjab progresses like Haryana in the near future,” he said. He further mentioned that under Congress rule, crop loss compensation was ₹1,155 crore, while BJP increased it to ₹1,550 crore, reflecting the government’s focus on development.
Saini concluded by expressing confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership would ensure Punjab achieves similar growth and prosperity as Haryana.
