Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the Special Olympics India Athletics National Championship held in Rohtak as the chief guest, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to promoting inclusive sports and empowering differently-abled athletes.
During the event, the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini warmly welcomed Special Olympics India President Mallika Nadda to Haryana and praised the organisation for its continuous efforts in providing national-level platforms to athletes with intellectual and physical disabilities.

Addressing the gathering, CM Nayab Singh Saini expressed gratitude to the Special Olympics India Committee for successfully organising the championship. He stated that such sporting events play a crucial role in boosting confidence, talent and self-reliance among differently-abled players, while also helping them achieve recognition at national and international levels.
He emphasized that Haryana has always prioritised sports development and remains committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all athletes, irrespective of physical abilities.
Stadium with Residential Facilities Announced for Differently-Abled Players
In a major announcement, the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared that the Haryana government will construct a dedicated stadium with residential accommodation for differently-abled athletes in the state. The initiative aims to provide better training infrastructure, housing facilities and long-term support for para-athletes and Special Olympics participants.
Financial Support Announced
Demonstrating personal commitment towards inclusive sports, CM Nayab Singh Saini announced a contribution of ₹31 lakh from his personal fund to Special Olympics India. Additionally, Haryana Minister of State for Sports, Gaurav Gautam, announced financial assistance of ₹21 lakh to support the organisation and its athletes.
The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from athletes across the country, celebrating the spirit of determination, equality and sporting excellence.
