The Haryana Government, through the Ayushman Bharat–Haryana Health Protection Authority, is implementing the Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and the CHIRAYU Yojana to provide cashless indoor treatment of up to ₹5 lakh for over 45 lakh eligible families in the state.
A spokesperson of the State Health Authority (SHA), responding to communications from the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Haryana regarding withdrawal of services, clarified that all pending payments to empanelled healthcare providers are being processed and released on time. Priority is being given to smaller hospitals, and sufficient funds have been sanctioned to ensure all outstanding dues are cleared without delay.
As of now, claims submitted up to the second week of June 2025 have been settled. Since the launch of the schemes, more than ₹3,050 crore has been disbursed to hospitals. For the financial year 2025–26, till August 18, about ₹480 crore has been received from the Centre and the State Government and fully utilized for claim settlements. Since August 5, ₹200 crore has already been released to empanelled hospitals, while an additional ₹291 crore sanctioned under the CHIRAYU Yojana will be released shortly to clear further dues.
The spokesperson highlighted that claims are processed transparently through the National Health Authority’s (NHA) online platform by a team of 60 doctors, with random allocation of cases. Haryana Government ,Queries are raised to hospitals in cases of incomplete claims or missing mandatory documents, and all deductions are strictly as per NHA guidelines. Hospitals may appeal through the portal, with appeals reviewed by a Medical Audit Committee.
It was further noted that many private hospitals have not supported IMA’s call and continue to provide services, with nearly 2,500 pre-authorizations being registered daily. Strict action will be taken against denial of treatment in violation of guidelines. Haryana Government ,Surprise inspections of empanelled hospitals have also been conducted to check irregularities in claim submissions, and necessary action will follow based on the findings.
The Health Department is also upgrading District Hospitals by recruiting more doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff, strengthening postgraduate policy to increase specialists, improving infrastructure, and modernizing biomedical equipment. Services like dialysis, CT/MRI scans, advanced blood banks, and cancer care are already available in most district hospitals and will soon be extended to all.
The spokesperson added that, in case empanelled hospitals deny treatment, District Hospitals are fully capable of handling the patient load. Additionally, new government, government-aided, and private medical colleges are supplementing tertiary care services across Haryana.
