- All contractors/shopkeepers will be eligible for a 100 percent exemption of the rent for the period from April 1, 2020, to June 30, 2020
- Contractors/shopkeepers will be eligible for a 50 percent exemption on rent for the period from July 1, 2020, to July 31, 2020
In a bid to facilitate contractors shopkeepers at all bus stands in Haryana Roadways in doing their business in times of financial duress brought in by reduced activities at bus stands because of COVID-19, the Haryana Government has drafted a scheme for Waiving off/refund of rent/security for Shops at Bus Stands of Haryana Roadways for COVID-Wave-I.
The State Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini here today approved the said scheme.
During COVID-19, the Government of India had imposed complete lockdown across the country from March 22, 2020 to May 31, 2020 and partial restrictions from June 1, 2020 onwards. During this period, the business of shops was directly affected due to the stoppage of bus movement at Haryana Roadways bus stands. Therefore, in the interest of such contractors/shopkeepers, the government has issued a Waiving off/refund of rent/security scheme.
This Scheme shall come into effect on the date of its notification in the Government of Haryana official gazette but the waiver/refund/adjustment of rent shall be for the period from 01.04.2020 to 31.07.2020.
As per the provision of the scheme, all the contractors/shopkeepers who are doing their business at bus stands of Haryana Roadways under a valid contract with the concerned General Manager, Haryana Roadways, as on March 20, 2020, will be eligible for 100 percent waiver of shop rent for the period from 01.04.2020 to 30.06.2020 and 50 percent waiver of rent from 01.07.2020 to 31.07.2020.
The contractors/shopkeepers who have not paid the rent during the period from 01.04.2020 to 30.06.2020 and from 01.07.2020 to 31.07.2020 during Covid-19 and the department has initiated proceedings against such contractors /shopkeepers for recovery of rent in any court of law shall be settled accordingly in the light of provisions of this scheme. Further, they shall not be debarred from participating in auction of booths/shops/stands etc. at bus stands of Haryana Roadways for default of payment of bank during the above said period.
