Focus on Public Participation and Awareness
Dr. Balbir Singh highlighted that the success of the “Health Card Campaign Punjab” depends heavily on public participation. He urged citizens, especially youth and students, to actively learn about the process and contribute to expanding the reach of the program across communities.
Dengue Prevention and Seasonal Disease Control
The state government is running a strong awareness campaign to control dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. Every Friday, special cleanliness and anti-dengue drives are conducted across Punjab. These initiatives are closely linked with the “Health Card Campaign Punjab” to improve overall public health awareness.
Role of ASHA Workers in Ground Implementation
ASHA workers are playing a crucial role in spreading awareness at the grassroots level. They are educating families about maintaining hygiene, preventing stagnant water, and ensuring safe living conditions, strengthening the “Health Card Campaign Punjab” initiative further.
Strict Action Against Health Violations
The minister also informed that illegal activities, including a kidney racket and a rehabilitation center in Mohali, were recently busted. Citizens are encouraged to report any cases of food adulteration or fake products to health authorities immediately.
Food Safety Measures Strengthened
The government has deployed food safety vans across all districts, allowing food businesses to test their products regularly. Strict action is being taken against food adulteration to ensure public safety under the “Health Card Campaign Punjab” framework.
