Haryana News Update : Three Bills Passed in Haryana Vidhan Sabha Monsoon Session
Haryana News :- During the monsoon session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, three bills were passed after discussion. These include:
-
Haryana Vidhan Sabha (Members’ Salaries, Allowances and Pension) Amendment Bill, 2025
The Bill amends the 1975 Act to revise provisions related to members’ travel allowance. Previously, the combined cap of ₹1,00,000 on pension, dearness relief, and travel allowance was seen as insufficient given rising inflation. The amendment removes this cap while retaining the maximum special travel allowance of ₹10,000 per month for members or their family members. -
Haryana Backward Classes Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2025
This Bill expands the scope of the Commission’s functions to safeguard the rights of backward classes more effectively. It amends Section 9 of the 2016 Act and inserts a new Section 18 to protect the Chairperson, members, and employees of the Commission from legal proceedings for actions taken in good faith—similar to provisions already available to the State SC Commission. -
Haryana Management of Deficient Civic Amenities and Infrastructure in the Peripheral Areas of Municipal Areas (Special Provisions) Amendment Bill, 2025
This Bill amends the 2021 Act to extend provisions for regularizing unauthorized industrial colonies in addition to residential ones. As per the Chief Minister’s budget announcement, clusters of at least 50 industrial units spread over 10 acres of contiguous land can apply collectively for recognition. Until a final decision is made, such units will be treated as valid by all departments, enabling them to access basic civic amenities and infrastructure.
