Haryana NEWS : Haryana’s Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, Dr. Sumita Misra, today assured complete security and administrative support to all prospective bidders in the upcoming liquor vend auctions, encouraging them to participate without hesitation or fear. “The government fully supports all law-abiding participants. No one should feel intimidated or discouraged from taking part in this official process. Every participant will be provided with complete protection,” Dr. Misra affirmed.
She made these comments while presiding over a law and order review meeting with Deputy Commissioners (DCs), Superintendents of Police (SPs), and District Excise and Taxation Commissioners (DETCs) from districts including Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Jind, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal, and Ambala. She made it clear that the state will not tolerate any form of intimidation or disruption during the auctions.
Expressing serious concern over reports of possible collusion between local troublemakers and anti-social elements attempting to intimidate participants, Dr. Misra directed police and intelligence officials to swiftly identify such individuals. She instructed district intelligence units to compile detailed records of repeat offenders and monitor their activities closely. Police were also ordered to keep watch for suspicious gatherings or unusual vehicle movements.
To instill confidence among bidders, Dr. Misra asked DCs and SPs in the concerned districts to personally meet and interact with them. These meetings are intended to directly address any security concerns and reaffirm the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order. “DCs and SPs must actively engage with bidders, listen to their issues, and ensure they are confident in the arrangements. The message must be clear—this process will not be allowed to be disrupted,” she emphasized.
Dr. Misra reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy on any interference and warned that any negligence or complicity by officials would be met with strict disciplinary action. “The fairness and credibility of the auction process must be upheld at all costs,” she stated.
She also stressed the need for installing video surveillance, deploying additional police personnel in sensitive areas, and ensuring seamless coordination with Excise Department officers to guarantee that the auctions are conducted in a secure and transparent manner.
