Haryana News : Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh was officially sworn in today as the 19th Governor of Haryana.
The oath of office was administered by Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, during a solemn and dignified ceremony at the Haryana Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh.
Prof. Ghosh, a renowned academic and seasoned political figure, previously led the Department of Political Science at a prestigious college in Kolkata for nearly 40 years. He has made significant contributions to academic research and political thought, participating in UGC and ICSSR projects and publishing numerous articles in leading journals.
The ceremony was attended by Punjab Governor Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria and Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini. Also present were Mrs. Mitra Ghosh, the Governor’s wife; Mrs. Suman Saini, wife of the Chief Minister; and other members of the Governor’s family.
Among the distinguished guests were Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Sh. Harvinder Kalyan; Cabinet Ministers Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, Dr. Arvind Sharma, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, Sh. Krishna Kumar Bedi, and Smt. Shruti Chaudhary; Ministers of State Sh. Rajesh Nagar and Sh. Gaurav Gautam; Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi; Secretary to Governor Sh. Atul Dwivedi; several MLAs; university vice chancellors; and senior government officials.
Following the oath-taking, Governor Prof. Ghosh personally interacted with the guests and accepted their congratulations. A Guard of Honour was also presented by a Special Contingent of the Haryana Armed Police in his honour.
