The Haryana government has completed preparations for the upcoming Paddy Procurement season, with Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana assuring farmers that the purchase process will begin as soon as the crop reaches maturity.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP office Shyam Kamal, Rana said the government has made arrangements to ensure that farmers can sell their produce without unnecessary difficulties.

Farmers Asked to Bring Fully Matured Crop to Mandis
While discussing Paddy Procurement, Shyam Singh Rana urged farmers to bring their produce to the mandis only after the crop has fully matured. He said this would help prevent avoidable problems during the procurement process.
The minister emphasized that the government is committed to making adequate arrangements for the purchase of farmers’ produce and ensuring that eligible crops are procured smoothly.
58 Lakh Metric Tonnes Procurement Target
The Haryana government has set a target of procuring 58 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the current season. Rana said the administration is prepared to handle the expected arrival of the crop in the mandis.
He also made it clear that farmers should not be worried if production exceeds the estimated target. According to the minister, the government will procure the additional paddy as well and will make every effort to ensure that farmers do not face difficulties in selling their crop.
Government Buying Crops at MSP
Rana said the government is procuring various agricultural crops at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), providing farmers with greater price security for their produce. The policy is aimed at ensuring that farmers receive remunerative prices and are protected from unfavorable market conditions.
The minister also highlighted the government’s Paddy Procurement arrangements along with the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana. The scheme is intended to provide relief to farmers when market prices fluctuate and fall below the expected level.
Focus on Smooth Procurement for Farmers
The government’s Paddy Procurement preparations are focused on ensuring that farmers can bring their matured crop to the mandis and complete the selling process without unnecessary hurdles.
Rana reiterated that the administration will remain committed to purchasing the available crop, including quantities arriving beyond the initial target.
