Haryana approves ₹912.70 crore under RDSS to boost power infrastructure, improve efficiency, and reduce line losses in electricity distribution.

Haryana has taken another significant step toward strengthening its power sector. The Distribution Reforms Committee (DRC), chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, has approved additional electricity infrastructure projects worth ₹912.70 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

The approval is aimed at accelerating reforms in the state’s power distribution network and improving overall operational efficiency.

Proposal Sent for Further Approval

As part of the process, the committee has also decided to forward the proposal to the Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and the Ministry of Power for consideration and approval by the RDSS monitoring committee.

Officials stated that this step will ensure financial and technical validation at the central level before implementation.

The newly approved projects are expected to significantly strengthen Haryana’s electricity distribution infrastructure. The focus will remain on reducing technical losses, improving reliability, and upgrading network capacity across urban and rural regions.

The decision comes at a time when Haryana’s power distribution companies have emerged among the best-performing utilities in the country. The state has recorded a notable reduction in line losses along with improved operational efficiency.
