iPhone SE 4
The next iPhone SE 4 may no longer look like old technology.
For years, buying an affordable iPhone SE 4 meant sticking with an outdated design with a Home button and thick, chunky bezels. However, in recent months, rumors and leaks have surfaced that suggest otherwise about the upcoming iPhone SE , which is expected to come with a more modern design.
Now, some newly released CAD renderings, first spotted by 91Mobiles, seem to confirm those rumors. The next Apple iPhone SE 4 is expected to get not only a major display upgrade, but also some additions that are missing from the entire iPhone 15 series.
What to Expect?
The iPhone SE 4 was expected to replace the old Home button design with a new, attractive full-screen design. New renders confirm this.
However, the report also suggests that the iPhone SE Gen 4 will use an action button instead of mute. The confirmation of the operation button on Apple smartphones is a big step forward, since the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus did not even have it.
The iconic mute switch is expected to be removed from the iPhone 16 series, while the addition of an action button on the next iPhone SE will make the phone more future proof.
Other features you can expect from the iPhone SE aren’t that surprising. Apple still has a single camera on the back of the phone. That means the only way to get multiple cameras is to spend more on Apple’s flagship phone.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to have a larger 6.1-inch display, making it closer to the flagship iPhone. That’s great, because the current SE’s tiny 4-inch screen felt a bit small for modern times.
Other changes include the iPhone 13/14-sized notch on the front and the amazing USB-C switch above the Lightning port.
There are no official release dates yet, which means Apple could be saving the new iPhone SE 4 for a spring release in addition to updating the iPad Pro series.
Alternatively, we could see the phone launch alongside the iPhone 16 series a few months later, meaning we won’t see the phone until this September. For now, Apple fans can only wait for the new iOS 17.4 update, which will be available on supported devices any day now.
