Isudan Gadhvi writes to 53 Gujarat MLAs, seeking an official drought declaration and immediate relief for farmers and livestock owners.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat president Isudan Gadhvi has written to 53 legislators from Saurashtra, Kutch and North Gujarat, urging them to raise the issue of drought-like conditions and demand immediate relief for farmers and livestock owners.
In his letter, Isudan Gadhvi highlighted the impact of a severe rainfall shortage across several districts of Gujarat. According to him, inadequate water availability has created serious difficulties for the state’s rural economy, which largely depends on agriculture and animal husbandry.
Farmers Face Crop and Fodder Crisis
Isudan Gadhvi said the shortage of water is affecting agricultural activities and putting crops at risk. At the same time, the availability of fodder for livestock has become a major concern in several affected areas.
The situation, he said, is putting additional financial pressure on farmers, agricultural labourers and livestock owners. With agricultural and livestock-based livelihoods facing difficulties, affected families are struggling to manage their regular expenses and protect their sources of income.
Gadhvi has therefore called for an official drought declaration in the affected regions so that the government can initiate relief measures, provide necessary assistance and extend compensation to those facing losses.

Appeal to 53 MLAs
Through his letter, Isudan Gadhvi appealed to the 53 MLAs to act as representatives of the people and understand the difficulties being faced by farmers and livestock owners.
He urged the legislators to strongly present the demand for a drought declaration before the Gujarat Chief Minister. He also called on them to raise the matter during the upcoming Assembly session and seek a detailed discussion on the problems affecting rural communities.
According to Gadhvi, a united effort by elected representatives is necessary to ensure that the concerns of farmers receive immediate attention from the government.
‘Dushkal Ghoshna Satyagraha’ Underway in Khambhalia
The appeal comes amid the ongoing “Dushkal Ghoshna Satyagraha” in Khambhalia, which has been launched over the demand for an official drought declaration and relief for affected farming communities.
Isudan Gadhvi said the campaign is aimed at highlighting the difficulties faced by farmers and ensuring that their concerns reach the government.
He has also called for collective action from legislators so that immediate relief measures can be taken in areas affected by the rainfall shortage.
Demand for Relief and Compensation
The key demand is for the government to officially assess the situation in affected areas and take appropriate steps for farmers, farm workers and livestock owners.
Isudan Gadhvi expressed hope that all legislators would come together in the broader interest of farming communities and press the government to provide relief without delay.
The letter has brought renewed focus on the demand for drought-related assistance in Saurashtra, Kutch and North Gujarat, where the AAP leader says rural communities are facing growing challenges because of inadequate rainfall and water availability.
