The death toll in the Kerala floods has risen to 15, while seven people remain missing, as heavy rain continued to batter several parts of the state. Widespread flooding, waterlogging and rain-related incidents have disrupted normal life, prompting large-scale rescue and relief operations.
According to the Kerala government, more than 11,000 people have been evacuated to relief camps across the state as authorities continue efforts to assist those affected by the flooding. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also maintained heavy rainfall warnings for several districts, with officials urging residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious.

Over 11,000 shifted to relief camps
As rainfall continued across Kerala, authorities evacuated thousands of residents from flood-affected areas to safer locations.
The state government said more than 11,000 people have been shifted to relief camps, where arrangements have been made for drinking water, food and medical care. Officials also said preventive measures are being taken to minimise the risk of disease outbreaks in the camps.
Rescue and relief operations are being carried out by district administrations and emergency response agencies in areas affected by flooding and waterlogging.
Heavy rain continues to affect several districts
Heavy rainfall over the past two days has led to flooding in several towns and rural areas across Kerala. North Kerala districts, including Kannur and Kozhikode, continue to witness heavy showers, with several low-lying areas remaining inundated.
The IMD has forecast more rainfall in parts of the state, prompting authorities to closely monitor river levels and vulnerable locations. Residents have been advised to follow official advisories and avoid entering flood-affected areas unless necessary.
Authorities remain on high alert
The Kerala government has directed district administrations to continue rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts as the weather situation evolves.
With rain expected to persist in several parts of the state, officials are monitoring developments and coordinating emergency response measures to ensure timely assistance for affected residents.
