LG launches AI DD 2.0 washing machines in India with AI-based wash optimisation, Inverter Direct Drive, Steam+ and ThinQ connectivity.
LG Electronics has expanded its premium washing machine lineup in India with a new range featuring LG AI DD™ 2.0 washing machines. The technology combines artificial intelligence with LG’s Inverter Direct Drive system to automatically adjust wash settings according to the requirements of each laundry load.
The new technology is designed to reduce the guesswork involved in choosing washing settings. By analysing factors such as load size, fabric type, weight, soil level and detergent requirements, the system can select suitable wash conditions automatically.
How LG AI DD™ 2.0 Technology Works
The LG AI DD™ 2.0 washing machines use AI-powered sensing to analyse individual laundry loads. The system can work with up to 20,000 wash patterns to determine the appropriate washing approach.
Depending on the load, the technology can automatically adjust parameters including wash duration, water level, drum movements, rinsing and spinning. It can also factor in detergent requirements to optimise the overall washing cycle.
The AI system works alongside LG’s Inverter Direct Drive motor. Unlike conventional belt-driven systems, the motor is directly connected to the drum, allowing precise control over drum movements during washing.
AI Technology Designed for Everyday Laundry
According to LG Electronics India, the technology has been developed using insights from real-world laundry usage. The company says these insights cover different fabric types, load sizes and everyday washing habits.
Young Min Hwang, Director – Home Solutions, LG Electronics India, said the company’s experience in the Indian market has helped it develop AI DD™ 2.0 as an intelligent washing technology focused on practical household requirements.
LG is promoting the new technology through its “Now Anyone Can Wash” campaign. The campaign highlights how automated wash settings can make laundry simpler by reducing the need to manually select cycles for different types of clothes.

ezDispense and TurboWash 360° Features
The new LG front-load washing machine range also comes with several features aimed at improving convenience. One of them is ezDispense™, which automatically dispenses detergent according to the requirements of the laundry load.
Another feature is TurboWash™ 360°, which uses multi-directional water jets to provide a thorough wash. According to LG, compatible cycles can complete washing in as little as 39 minutes.
The machines also feature Steam+™, which is designed to remove up to 99.9% of allergens such as dust mites and reduce wrinkles by up to 30%.
LG ThinQ Connectivity
The LG AI DD™ 2.0 washing machines also support LG ThinQ™ connectivity. Through the connected features, users can remotely monitor washing cycles, access smart diagnostics and track energy usage.
This connectivity allows users to keep an eye on their washing machine even when they are away from the appliance, while diagnostics can help identify potential issues.
New FX Series Comes in Multiple Capacities
LG has introduced its new FX series, identified as the NT, VX and GVX series, with 10 models currently available. The range covers washing machine capacities from 12 kg to 20 kg.
The company has also planned an additional washer-dryer model for launch in August, expanding the options available to consumers looking for an all-in-one laundry appliance.
Price and Availability in India
The new LG AI DD™ 2.0 washing machines start at an MRP of ₹72,990. The range is offered in multiple colour options, including Onyx Black, Essence Black, Essence Silver, Essence Graphite and Ground Green.
The washing machines are available through major online platforms, offline retail outlets and LG Brand Stores. According to the company, customers can also access financing options, cashback offers and other promotional schemes, subject to applicable terms.
LG says the new range is aimed at making advanced washing technology more accessible for everyday household use, with AI-based automation handling many of the settings that users traditionally have to choose manually.
