Maruti Suzuki India said on Tuesday that it has increased the Manesar facility’s annual production capacity by one lakh units.

The automaker expanded its three manufacturing units in Manesar, Haryana, by adding a car assembly line to Plant-A.

“One lakh vehicles can be produced annually on the new vehicle assembly line,” a statement from Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) stated.

It stated that Manesar’s total annual car production capacity now stands at 9 lakh thanks to the extra assembly line.

Hisashi Takeuchi, the managing director and CEO of MSI, stated, “Over the next 7-8 years, we aim to nearly double our capacity to 4 million vehicles per annum. This capacity addition of 1 lakh vehicles per year is a step towards this goal.”
