Under the guidance of Health Minister Arti Singh Rao, the Haryana Health Department has partnered with private service providers under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to launch MRI scan facilities at the District Civil Hospitals in Kurukshetra and Panipat, and CT scan facilities at the District Civil Hospital in Charkhi Dadri and Sub-District Hospital in Bahadurgarh. The agreements have been signed with M/s Navneet Saxena, M/s Satyakiran, and M/s HealthMap.
This initiative aligns with Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini’s vision of delivering quality healthcare to all citizens of Haryana. With the rollout of these services, residents in these regions will gain access to improved diagnostic tools and more timely medical treatment. These facilities are expected to become operational within the next three months.
Health Minister Arti Singh Rao stated that the government plans to expand MRI and CT scan services across all districts of Haryana in a phased manner. “This marks the beginning of a wider effort to ensure access to advanced diagnostic services in every district,” she said.
CT scan services under the PPP model were introduced in 2015 in four districts and have since expanded to 17 districts. MRI services, also initiated in 2015, are currently available in five districts, with plans to extend them state-wide. Presently, Haryana conducts approximately 1.5 lakh CT scans and 65,000 MRI scans annually.
These diagnostic services are provided at rates 50–60% lower than prevailing market prices for general patients and are completely free for BPL families, urban slum dwellers, disability pension beneficiaries, economically disadvantaged patients not covered under other categories, Scheduled Caste patients, individuals from economically weaker sections (as per the state’s reservation policy), unidentified road accident victims, government employees and pensioners along with their dependents, and persons living with HIV (PLHIV).
Haryana has emerged as a pioneer in leveraging the PPP model to bolster its healthcare services and infrastructure. Through this approach, the state has successfully provided services such as dialysis, CT/MRI scans, and cath lab facilities.
Currently, dialysis services are available in all 22 districts, and since October 2024, they have been made completely free for all patients. Around 3,000 end-stage kidney patients are benefiting, with nearly 1.8 lakh dialysis sessions conducted annually.
In addition, advanced cardiac catheterization lab services—typically costing ₹1.5 to 2 lakh in private hospitals—are now operational in four district civil hospitals. These services are free for SC/ST and BPL patients, and government employees and their dependents, and are offered at 60–70% lower rates for other patients.
