  • Chief Minister lays foundation stone for Maharani Padmavati Girls College in Palwal

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, stated that new initiatives are being implemented to provide quality education in the state. Now, a college is established within every 20 kilometres, providing relief to the state’s girls who no longer need to travel long distances for higher education.

The Chief Minister was addressing a public gathering after laying the foundation stone for Maharani Padmavati Girls College, which is being constructed by the Sri Sitaram Ji Seva Samiti in Palwal. Besides this, the Chief Minister also inaugurated an indoor stadium at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium in Palwal, built at a cost of approximately Rs. 14 crores.

He praised the glorious history of Maharani Padmavati and expressed hope that the students of this college would also imbibe good values. He also announced a grant of Rs. 31 lakhs for the college’s construction from his discretionary fund. He assured that the state government would continue to support the project to ensure its swift completion.

During the event, the Chief Minister urged the residents of Palwal to participate in Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, encouraging everyone to plant at least one sapling in their surroundings, fields, or vacant areas and to take care of it. The trees planted today will provide new life to future generations, the Chief Minister added.

Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Sh. Krishan Pal said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the Country and State are witnessing holistic development. He highlighted the significant work being done in the “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” campaign initiated by the Prime Minister. Over the past 10 years, 31 new colleges have been opened in the state, with four of them being established in Palwal district only, he added. He also announced a contribution of Rs.21 lakhs from his fund for the college’s construction.

Minister of State for Sports, Environment, Forest and Wildlife, Sh. Sanjay Singh, stated that the new college would greatly assist the girls of this region in advancing their education. He further added that the state government is not only increasing the number of colleges to promote education and encourage girls in the field of education but also introducing new courses and increasing the number of seats as well. He announced a grant of Rs. 31 lakhs from his fund to support the college’s construction.

Minister in the Uttar Pradesh Government, Sh. Dinesh Pratap Singh, MLA, Sh. Deepak Mangla, Sh. Jagdish Nayar, Sh. Parveen Dagar, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Harish Vashisht, President of Sri Sitaram Seva Trust, Dr. Harendra Pal Rana and other dignitaries also remained present.
