The Chief Minister said that our government took bold steps like stringent anti-riot law, strict action against land encroachment and UCC, but for the effective implementation of these bold efforts of the government, massive public cooperation is required. CM Dhami participated in the “Vikas Bharat / 2047 Collective Dialogue with Ex-Servicemen” programme held at Garhi Cantt, Dehradun. During the programme, the Chief Minister interacted with the ex-servicemen present and took their suggestions for the overall development of the state. The Chief Minister said that the Forest Department has been directed to plant 1000 trees in every division.
CM Dhami said that sometime back Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had launched the “Ek tree apni maa ke naam” campaign in the country. On this occasion, I call upon all of you to take part in this campaign because you are all nationalists as well as protectors of our environment. Wherever you plant a tree, it will always be guaranteed to flourish, because you will always take care of it as a soldier. The Chief Minister said that the number of tourists visiting the state in the last two months has crossed 38 lakh. With the efforts and cooperation of the Prime Minister, the winter yatra and Adi Kailash Yatra have got a new momentum in the state. The unemployment rate in the state has come down to 4.2, which is less than the national average.
The travel time to has been reduced by 7 days. Welcoming and congratulating all the ex-servicemen present in the program, CM Dhami said that the soldiers have spent a significant period of their lives protecting the country with valor, bravery and dedication. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Kutch to Arunachal Pradesh, soldiers have enhanced the glory and respect of the tricolor on every front. The Chief Minister said that our state is Devbhoomi as well as Veerbhoomi because almost every family of our state is associated with the army. History is witness to the fact that our brave sons never left any stone unturned in sacrificing their lives to protect the motherland. CM Dhami said that I myself am the son of a soldier, I have seen and understood the problems and challenges of ex-servicemen and their families from close quarters. The Chief Minister said that he always had a deep sense of sensitivity and dedication towards the martyrs and their families. Therefore, we have tried that the same spirit is reflected in the work of our government. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Lt Gen AK Singh, Lt Gen KS Rana, K Birender Singh Rana, Brig Nitesh Bisht and a large number of ex-servicemen were present.
