A senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Praveen Ram, has strongly defended party MLA Chaitar Vasava, claiming that the court verdict against him is an attempt to suppress the voice of the tribal community in Gujarat.
Speaking on the issue, Ram alleged that the case against Vasava is politically motivated and aimed at silencing leaders who raise concerns related to tribal rights and welfare.
Allegations of Misuse of State Machinery
Praveen Ram claimed that the conviction of Chaitar Vasava is the result of alleged misuse of government machinery, including investigative agencies, witnesses, and legal officials. He said the case reflects a broader attempt to weaken the voice of tribal communities across the state.
He further argued that Vasava has consistently worked on issues such as land rights, displacement compensation, forest rights, and welfare of tribal youth, making him a strong representative of marginalized communities.

“Fight Will Continue from Ambaji to Umargam”
The AAP leader stated that the struggle for tribal rights will continue from Ambaji to Umargam and cannot be stopped by legal action against a single leader. He warned that if one Chaitar Vasava is jailed, “thousands more will rise” to continue the movement.
Ram also urged tribal organizations across Gujarat to unite and set aside internal differences to collectively raise their voice against injustice.
AAP Announces Legal and Mass Movement Support
Praveen Ram confirmed that the Aam Aadmi Party will fight the case at all legal levels, including higher courts, and will explore every possible legal remedy available.
He also added that the party will support Chaitar Vasava not only in courts but also through public and grassroots movements, ensuring continued political and social pressure.
Call for Unity Among Tribal Groups
Ram appealed to tribal organizations and youth to come together in solidarity, stating that the issue is not about one individual but about the broader rights and dignity of the entire tribal community.
He reiterated that the fight for justice will continue both in legal forums and on the ground until relief is achieved.
