The Punjab government organised a statewide parent workshop across all government schools, engaging 2.7 million parents to strengthen parent-teacher collaboration and promote holistic student development.
In a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening the education ecosystem, the Punjab government on Friday organised a statewide parent workshop across all government schools under the theme “Parents’ Partnership, Children’s Progress.” The massive exercise is expected to witness the participation of nearly 2.7 million parents, making it one of the largest parent engagement programmes in the country.
Strengthening the Parent–School Partnership
The initiative seeks to build a strong bridge between homes and schools to ensure the holistic development of students, with a special focus on academic growth, emotional well-being, social skills and mental health. The government believes that meaningful parental involvement plays a crucial role in shaping a child’s future and improving learning outcomes.
Interactive Sessions on Key Child Development Issues
Beginning at 9 am, teachers across Punjab are conducting interactive sessions with parents, covering critical topics such as children’s academic performance, discipline, the impact of the digital world, mental health awareness, screen time management and the role of parents in providing a supportive home environment. Parents are also being offered practical guidance and actionable strategies to help their children achieve long-term success.

Part of Punjab’s Ongoing Education Reforms
According to the Education Department, the programme is a key component of the state government’s ongoing education revolution. In recent years, Punjab has successfully conducted mega parent-teacher meetings that brought millions of parents into direct dialogue with schools, reinforcing transparency and collaboration within the education system.
Cabinet Ministers Join Workshops Across the State
Several cabinet ministers are participating in the workshops to underline the government’s commitment to education reform. Focus on Children’s All-Round Development
The Punjab government has reiterated that education extends beyond textbooks and classrooms. By encouraging consistent dialogue between teachers and parents, the state aims to nurture confident, disciplined and emotionally resilient students. The statewide parent workshop reflects the government’s broader vision of creating a student-centric and inclusive education system.
With strong participation from parents, teachers and policymakers, the initiative marks a significant step towards redefining public education in Punjab and ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.
