Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced an 8% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees following a meeting with employee and pensioner organisations. The Punjab Employees DA Hike will come into effect with the salary paid for October.
Describing the meeting as highly positive, Chief Minister Mann said government employees are an important part of the state’s administrative family. He said the government is committed to their welfare and will continue to address their concerns through dialogue.
8% DA Increase to Start With October Salary
The Punjab government has decided to increase the Dearness Allowance by 8%. According to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, employees will begin receiving the revised DA with their October salary. The Punjab Employees DA Hike is expected to provide additional financial support to government employees and pensioners.
Mann said the decision was taken after discussions with representatives of employees and pensioners. He emphasised that the government considers its employees an important part of Punjab’s development process.

According to Mann, these matters have remained pending since previous governments. The government plans to hold another meeting with employee and pensioner organisations in the first week of October to discuss ways to find permanent solutions to these issues.
