The Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government has accelerated the resolution process for the 180 Elementary Teacher Training (ETT) Adhyapak Association, ensuring timely attention to the association’s legitimate demands. Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema instructed the Finance and Education Departments to hold an urgent joint meeting to address the concerns of the ETT teachers.
The directive followed a comprehensive consultative session at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, where the ETT representatives presented their issues in detail. Minister Cheema emphasized the government’s commitment to resolving employee grievances efficiently and without unnecessary delay.
Constructive Dialogue and Time-Bound Action
Speaking to the delegation, Finance Minister Cheema said, “The concerns raised by the 180 ETT Adhyapak Association merit serious and time-bound consideration. I have directed the Finance and Education Departments to convene a joint meeting to ensure all legitimate demands are addressed promptly.”
During the discussions, teachers highlighted specific administrative and professional challenges they face. Cheema assured that every aspect, including legal and financial implications, will be carefully reviewed to ensure a solution that is both legally sound and fiscally feasible.
