Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann emphasized the importance of the campaign, saying, “Punjab has long struggled with the menace of drugs, and this initiative is crucial to protect our youth. The results from the first phase demonstrate our commitment, and in phase two, we will take even stronger measures to ensure drug traffickers face strict action.”
AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal added that the campaign is not just about law enforcement. “Our goal is to create a drug-free Punjab by combining stringent action with public awareness. The safety and well-being of Punjab’s youth is our top priority,” he said.
The second phase will see intensified raids and operations across the state, with special teams from the police and security agencies monitoring all drug-related activities. Alongside enforcement, awareness programs will be conducted to educate citizens about the dangers of drug abuse and the legal consequences of trafficking.
Authorities in Jalandhar and surrounding districts have been instructed to ensure strict vigilance, with adequate security measures, including deployment of PCR teams and CCTV surveillance at strategic locations.
The Punjab government aims not only to curb trafficking but also to address the wider social impact of drug abuse. This phase of the campaign reinforces the state’s commitment to creating a safe, drug-free environment and ensuring that young people have a healthy future.
