Punjab’s Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana provides cashless treatment to 4.43 lakh patients, with ₹782 crore spent, says Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh.
The Punjab Government’s flagship healthcare initiative, Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, has delivered cashless medical treatment to more than 4.43 lakh patients so far, with total expenditure crossing ₹782.79 crore. The scheme continues to strengthen public healthcare access by reducing financial pressure on families across the state.
According to data released by the State Health Agency (SHA), Punjab, updated up to June 23, the programme has emerged as one of the most impactful welfare schemes in the state, offering quality treatment in both government and empanelled private hospitals.
Cashless Healthcare Reducing Financial Burden
The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana is designed to ensure cashless treatment for eligible beneficiaries, significantly lowering out-of-pocket medical expenses. It has enabled thousands of families to access timely healthcare without worrying about hospital bills or financial constraints.
Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that no resident of Punjab is denied medical care due to financial limitations. He described the programme as a transformative step in strengthening the state’s healthcare system.

Expanding Healthcare Access Across Rural Punjab
Officials noted that the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana’s reach is expanding rapidly in rural areas, including Mansa, Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, and Ferozepur, where beneficiaries are increasingly accessing cashless treatment facilities. Improved awareness and a growing network of empanelled hospitals have contributed to the rising number of beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries Share Life-Changing Impact

Government Commitment to Strengthen Healthcare
With 4,43,906 patients already benefiting and total expenditure reaching ₹782.79 crore, the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana continues to play a crucial role in strengthening Punjab’s healthcare infrastructure.
Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh reaffirmed that the government aims to expand the scheme further, ensuring universal access to affordable and quality healthcare for every eligible citizen in the state.
