Punjab Government has deployed senior officers and launched a 24×7 helpline to ensure the safe return of Punjabis stranded in Middle East during the ongoing crisis.
Amid the ongoing crisis in the Gulf region, the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has taken urgent steps to assist Punjabis stranded in Middle East countries. To coordinate relief efforts and ensure their safe return, the state government has appointed senior officers and established a dedicated 24×7 helpline.
According to official information, the helpline has been launched with immediate effect to help families and individuals seeking assistance related to Punjabis stranded in Middle East. The initiative aims to provide quick support, maintain records of calls, and coordinate with central authorities for necessary action.
Additional Director General of Police R.K. Jaiswal has been appointed as the overall in-charge of the helpline, while Vimal Setia, Secretary of the Department of Home Affairs, will serve as the nodal officer responsible for monitoring and coordination.
The nodal officer has been directed to remain in continuous contact with the Ministry of External Affairs to stay updated on evacuation efforts and safety measures for Punjabis stranded in Middle East as well as other Indian nationals in the region.

Officials said that every call received on the helpline will be properly documented and addressed promptly. If any matter requires intervention from the central government or other departments, it will be taken up on priority to ensure timely support for Punjabis stranded in Middle East.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said the decision was taken considering the emergency situation affecting residents of Punjab living abroad. He emphasized that the government’s primary aim is to provide immediate assistance to Punjabis stranded in Middle East and support their families during this difficult time.
“The Punjab Government stands firmly with Punjabis living in the Gulf region. We are fully committed to extending every possible help and cooperation to ensure their safety and smooth return,” the Chief Minister said.
The Punjab Government’s proactive step of setting up a helpline and appointing senior officials highlights its commitment to addressing the concerns of Punjabis stranded in Middle East and ensuring their well-being during the crisis.
