Rajasthan government launches AI-ML Policy 2026 and National AI Literacy Program, enabling children and youth to learn AI while boosting digital education, startups, and governance.
The Rajasthan government is taking a historic step to bring Artificial Intelligence (AI) education to all, including children, through a series of innovative digital initiatives. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated the Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 in Jaipur, simultaneously launching the Rajasthan AI-ML Policy 2026, the National AI Literacy Program, and several digital learning platforms aimed at empowering citizens through technology.
The initiatives aim to promote AI-driven education, skill development, startups, research, and digital governance across the state. By integrating AI into education and governance, Rajasthan seeks to become a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and ethical AI usage.
Innovative Launch with Holographic Technology
For the first time in Indian government events, three important MOUs were showcased live via a 98-inch holographic projection screen at JECC, giving attendees a unique immersive experience. Developed by startup Kaleens, led by Rajat Jain, the technology displayed MOUs signed between the government, Google, IIT Delhi, and National Law University, Jodhpur, in a lifelike holographic format. This cutting-edge demonstration follows similar technology shown only on international platforms such as the G20 summit.
AI to Strengthen E-Governance
Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India mission, the Rajasthan AI-ML Policy 2026 focuses on integrating AI responsibly, ethically, and securely into public service delivery. The policy ensures transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric governance while boosting administrative efficiency and innovation-driven economic growth.
Data security and cybersecurity are central to these initiatives, with AI systems designed to reduce bias, protect sensitive data, and maintain clarity in decision-making. A dedicated AI Centre of Excellence will also be established in the state to oversee these efforts.
AI Education and Skill Development for All
The policy mandates each department to identify AI applications in their respective domains and appoint AI nodal officers. Modern digital infrastructure, AI cloud services, secure data storage, and testing platforms will be developed. AI education will be promoted in schools, ITIs, polytechnics, and colleges, and special AI training programs will be provided for youth, teachers, and government staff.
Startups, MSMEs, and research institutions will receive top-up incentives aligned with RIPS, MSME, and startup policies to encourage AI-based projects.
National AI Literacy Program for Youth and Children
A key highlight is the National AI Literacy Program, designed to make AI accessible to children, students, and youth. The first phase, AI for All, will offer four-hour courses teaching AI concepts in a simple, practical way, emphasizing creativity, planning, and responsible use in daily life.
Digital learning platforms like the iStart Learning Management System will further promote skill development, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, the Rajasthan AI Portal and AVGC-XR Portal will support talent in animation, gaming, comics, and extended reality sectors.
Collaboration with Global and National Institutes
Partnerships with Google, IIT Delhi, and National Law University, Jodhpur will facilitate AI/ML pilot projects in healthcare, agriculture, transport, and citizen services. These collaborations will bring global best practices in AI cloud implementation, research, and ethical AI deployment. An AI Centre of Excellence in Jaipur will foster research, hackathons, startup mentoring, and industry-academic-government collaboration.
With these initiatives, Rajasthan is poised to become a national leader in AI innovation, digital literacy, and citizen empowerment, giving even children the tools to understand and harness the power of AI responsibly.
