The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has officially withdrawn the Ranveer Singh FWICE non-cooperation directive, bringing a temporary resolution to the ongoing dispute surrounding the actor’s exit from Don 3. The decision was announced on Wednesday following intervention from multiple industry bodies and a legal notice reportedly issued by the actor.
FWICE Revokes Directive After Industry Intervention
FWICE president BN Tiwari confirmed that the Ranveer Singh FWICE non-cooperation directive was lifted after discussions with major industry associations, including the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPAA), the Producers Guild of India, and the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA).
He stated that all stakeholders had requested a collective resolution to ensure that neither the producers nor the actor faced long-term professional setbacks.
According to Tiwari, the industry bodies emphasized the need for mutual understanding and cooperation to avoid further escalation of the matter.
Origin of the Don 3 Dispute
The controversy began when Ranveer Singh exited Don 3 just weeks before the film was scheduled to begin production. The sudden departure reportedly caused financial losses of nearly ₹45 crore to the producers.
Following the development, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar approached FWICE, which later issued multiple notices to the actor. When no resolution was reached, the federation imposed the Ranveer Singh FWICE non-cooperation directive, effectively restricting its members from working with him.
