Cricket and Volleyball Kits Distributed
As part of the programme, cricket and volleyball kits were distributed among local players. The sports equipment is expected to support youngsters during their training sessions and encourage greater participation in both sports.
Ravjot Singh said that the government is committed to creating an environment where young people can focus on sports and constructive activities. Providing sports infrastructure and equipment at the village level can play a significant role in nurturing emerging talent.
Encouraging Rural Sporting Talent
The newly inaugurated playground is expected to benefit the youth of Singariwal and provide them with a dedicated venue for sporting activities. Such facilities can also encourage children and young people to spend more time on outdoor activities and develop teamwork, discipline and fitness.
Ravjot Singh said that the aim is to ensure that Punjab’s youth get opportunities to move forward through sports. Talented players who receive proper training and facilities can go on to represent their village, district and state at higher levels.
The initiative also reflects the government’s broader focus on strengthening sports infrastructure in rural Punjab. By developing playgrounds and providing sports kits, the administration aims to bring sporting opportunities closer to young people living in villages.
Village Residents Welcome the Initiative
The entire village community welcomed the development of the new playground and expressed gratitude to the Mann government for taking steps to promote sports among the youth. Residents appreciated the distribution of cricket and volleyball kits, saying such initiatives can motivate local players to participate more actively in sports.
Ravjot Singh also encouraged the players to make full use of the new facilities and continue working hard to improve their sporting abilities. He emphasised that Punjab’s youth can achieve success when they receive the right support, infrastructure and opportunities.
The inauguration of the Singariwal playground is therefore expected to give a fresh push to grassroots sports in the area. With improved facilities and access to sports equipment, local youngsters will have a better platform to pursue their interests and contribute to Punjab’s sporting legacy.
