Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini announced that Buddha Jayanti will be celebrated with great enthusiasm across the state. He made this statement while addressing a delegation from the Shakya community who visited him at his residence, ‘Sant Kabir Kutir.’ On this occasion, he also declared a grant of ₹21 lakh for the construction of a Dharamshala for the Shakya community in Kaithal.
During the meeting, the Shakya community members submitted various welfare-related demands, to which CM Nayab Singh Sainiresponded positively, assuring that the government would take swift action to fulfill them. He emphasized the state government’s commitment to supporting all social welfare efforts.
Welcoming the delegation, CM Nayab Singh Saini praised the Shakya community’s remarkable legacy, calling it a source of inspiration for the world. He noted that Lord Gautam Buddha, an embodiment of compassion, peace, and non-violence, was born into this community, and that its heritage continues to guide humanity on the path of kindness and truth.
CM Nayab Singh Saini commended the community for maintaining values of dedication and honesty, highlighting their significant contributions to the development of Haryana in areas like agriculture, horticulture, vegetable farming, and craftsmanship.
Reiterating the state’s dedication to inclusive growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,CM Nayab Singh Sainistated that the income limit for the backward class creamy layer has been raised from ₹6 lakh to ₹8 lakh. He also mentioned that various schemes, including reservations in Panchayats and urban local bodies, educational and employment opportunities, low-interest education loans, and financial assistance for daughters’ marriages, are being extended to all eligible beneficiaries.
CM Nayab Singh Saini further underlined that the unity and collective strength of the Shakya community are its greatest strengths. He urged members to prioritize education, follow Lord Buddha’s teachings, promote peace, and actively contribute to the state’s progress.
