Sanjay Singh Raj, former Congress & Karni Sena leader, joins AAP in Anand, Gujarat with hundreds of supporters; door-to-door campaign launched.
In a major political development, Congress and Karni Sena leader Sanjay Singh Raj formally joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the presence of Gujarat state president Isudan Gadhvi. The event witnessed a large turnout of supporters, including nearly 60 former Congress and BJP office-bearers, as well as social leaders who also embraced the party.
Sanjay Singh Raj, who has been an active Congress member for years and served as Gujarat’s Karni Sena chief spokesperson, was welcomed into the party by Isudan Gadhvi, who ceremonially draped him with a “khes” (traditional shawl). The event was organized under the leadership of Anand district AAP president Vijaybhai, with a strong team of supporters joining the celebrations.
Addressing the media, Isudan Gadhvi said, “Inspired by Arvind Kejriwal’s work-oriented politics, the Aam Aadmi Party’s popularity in Gujarat continues to grow daily. Today, we are proud to welcome Sanjay Singh Raj from the Anklav Assembly constituency. His joining, along with his dedicated team and other social leaders, will strengthen AAP’s presence in Gujarat even further.”

Gadhvi added that Sanjay Singh Raj, along with nearly 60 former BJP and Congress leaders, will now actively participate in AAP’s initiatives. Over the coming weeks, they plan to organize three to four thousand public meetings to engage with citizens and expand the party’s outreach.
Following the induction, Gadhvi also announced the launch of AAP’s door-to-door campaign across Gujarat, aimed at reaching citizens directly to understand their problems, rights, and local issues. “Our mission is to connect with people at the grassroots level. AAP will stand firmly for public issues, whereas the current BJP leadership has repeatedly failed to manage the state effectively,” Gadhvi said.
The ceremony highlighted AAP’s growing momentum in Gujarat, signaling a shift as influential leaders from other parties join the party, bringing along their teams and supporters.
