In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, renowned casting director Mukesh Chhabra revealed why Sara Arjun was chosen over several big names to star opposite Ranveer Singh. According to him, the filmmakers wanted a fresh face that perfectly fit the world of Dhurandhar.
“A lot of people were messaging Aditya, saying they wanted to be cast opposite Ranveer. I was getting messages too. But we needed a face that truly belonged to that place, without any old baggage,” Mukesh Chhabra shared.

He added that although Sara had acted in films before as a child artist, she had never played a full-fledged role in Bollywood films. “We held 1,200–1,300 auditions before finalizing Sara. The idea was to surprise the audience — they should wonder who this girl is. That’s why Sara Arjun Dhurandhar made perfect sense,” he explained.
In Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Sara Arjun essays the role of Yalina, the daughter of politician Jameel Jamali, who falls in love with Ranveer Singh’s character and marries him. The film explores the complexities of their relationship as Yalina uncovers the truth about her husband’s identity. Alongside Sara, the film stars big names including Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, contributing to its high-octane storyline.
