Saurabh Bharadwaj has strongly questioned the sudden suspension of outsourced laboratory testing services across several government-run healthcare facilities in Delhi, alleging that the development has raised serious concerns about the functioning of the health system.
According to Bharadwaj, laboratory diagnostic services operating in approximately 350 Arogya Mandirs, 200 dispensaries and 28 government hospitals have been abruptly discontinued. He claimed that the decision has affected a crucial component of public healthcare and has left many unanswered questions regarding the management of the services.

The AAP leader alleged that concerns regarding possible irregularities in the tender process had been raised by members of the medical community for a considerable period. However, he claimed that despite repeated complaints, no significant action was taken for several months.
Bharadwaj further stated that the services were reportedly halted following an email issued by the Project Director, leading to uncertainty among healthcare providers and patients who rely on government diagnostic facilities.
Questioning the sequence of events, he asked why authorities allegedly failed to address the complaints earlier if concerns about the tender process existed. At the same time, he sought clarification on why such a large-scale suspension of services was implemented suddenly.
He emphasized that diagnostic testing plays a critical role in patient care and timely treatment. Any disruption in laboratory services, he said, can directly impact citizens who depend on affordable healthcare facilities operated by the government.
Calling for transparency, Bharadwaj urged the administration to provide a detailed explanation regarding the tender process, the reasons behind the suspension, and the steps being taken to restore services.
The issue has sparked political debate in the capital, with demands for greater accountability and clarity regarding the future of laboratory testing services in Delhi’s public healthcare network.
