CM Bhagwant Mann slams Sukhbir Badal for calling AAP volunteers ‘malang’, vows respect for workers in Patiala rally.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann fiercely addressed a massive public rally in Patiala, directly challenging Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal. CM Mann emphasized that while political rivalry is natural, using derogatory terms against selfless Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers is completely unacceptable.
Workers’ Respect Cannot Be Undermined
CM Mann, visibly emotional, stated, “Sukhbir Badal malang – calling our volunteers ‘malang’ (pauper or beggar) is disrespectful and hurtful. These are the same individuals who have worked tirelessly for change in Punjab. I have never used such language against any grassroots worker of an opposition party.”
He highlighted that while political battles may exist between leaders, attacking the dignity of workers is beyond tolerance.

Who Made the People ‘Malang’?
CM Mann posed a critical question to Sukhbir Badal, asking who is truly responsible for making Punjab’s citizens economically weak. He said:
Decades of Misrule: “Sukhbir Badal and his party ruled Punjab for decades, exploiting resources and leaving the common people deprived of basic facilities. Today, calling them ‘malang’ is not only wrong but insulting.”
Wave of Change: CM Mann pointed out that power has shifted from traditional elites to ordinary people who were once termed ‘malang,’ explaining the frustration visible in Sukhbir Badal’s recent statements.
Public Will Give a Strong Response
CM Mann asserted that AAP volunteers are deeply connected with the grassroots and politics based on dignity and service. He warned, “Leaders who cannot respect the public and party workers have no place in politics. Punjab’s citizens will respond strongly to this arrogance.”
He reiterated that Sukhbir Badal malang remarks would not be tolerated, and the public is aware of who truly works for change. CM Mann urged everyone to recognize the dedication of AAP workers, making it clear that respect and service remain the foundation of governance.
