E20 Petrol Awareness Campaign: The Gujarat unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will organise an awareness and educational programme in Surat on August 9 to discuss issues surrounding E20 petrol and ethanol blending. AAP Gujarat organisational secretary Dharmesh Bhanderi announced the programme during a press conference in the city.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 am at Sarathana Community Hall, near ABC Circle, Sarathana Jakatnaka, Surat. According to AAP, the programme is intended to provide citizens with information about E20 petrol, ethanol blending and concerns being raised over its possible impact on vehicles and consumers.
AAP Announces Public Awareness Drive on E20 Petrol
Addressing the press conference, Bhanderi said AAP has launched a nationwide public awareness campaign on ethanol blending in petrol. He said the party wants people to understand the technical and economic aspects associated with E20 petrol.
The programme in Surat follows an awareness event held at Delhi’s Town Hall on August 1 under the leadership of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, according to the party.
Bhanderi said the Surat event will focus on educating people about the composition of E20 petrol and the issues that AAP believes consumers should know before assessing its impact.

What Will Be Discussed at the Surat Event?
According to AAP, the awareness programme will cover several aspects of ethanol-blended petrol. The party says participants will be given information about the use of ethanol in petrol, potential technical concerns for vehicles and possible financial implications for vehicle owners.
AAP leaders will also discuss the government’s ethanol-blending policy and the party’s criticism of the Centre’s approach. These are political claims made by AAP and form part of the party’s campaign against the policy.
Bhanderi appealed to residents to attend the programme irrespective of their political affiliations and said the event should be viewed primarily as an opportunity to understand the issue.
Isudan Gadhvi, Gopal Italia and Manoj Sorathiya to Lead Event
The programme will be held under the leadership of AAP Gujarat president Isudan Gadhvi, national joint secretary and MLA Gopal Italia, and Gujarat organisational general secretary Manoj Sorathiya, according to the party.
Bhanderi said the objective is to create wider public awareness about ethanol blending and encourage citizens to understand the subject through an educational discussion.
The Surat AAP team has invited residents from across the city to attend the event.
