According to party sources, the first day will be reserved for filing nominations, scrutiny, and withdrawals, while the second day, December 14, will be used for voting and counting if multiple candidates file nominations. In the event of a single nomination, the candidate will be elected unanimously. Alongside the state president election, members for the BJP National Council will also be elected.

Bhupendra Chaudhary Meets PM Modi
Current UP BJP president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary met Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid the ongoing election preparations. After BJP’s lackluster performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Chaudhary had offered his resignation to the central leadership, which has not yet been accepted.
Party Strategy Ahead of Upcoming Elections
Sources indicate that the BJP may prefer an OBC candidate as the next UP state president to strengthen its position ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections and next year’s Panchayat polls. This move is seen as a strategic counter to opposition alliances under the PDA (Backwards, Dalit, Minority) formula.
With strong candidates, careful planning, and a focus on organizational strength, the upcoming election is expected to shape the future of the party’s politics in Uttar Pradesh.
