Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath reiterates that maintaining law and order with zero tolerance is the State’s top priority during an interaction with IPS trainees, emphasizing field learning, community trust, and crime vigilance.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed that maintaining law and order with zero tolerance remains the foremost priority of the State government. Speaking during an interaction with 23 IPS probationers from the 2023 and 2024 batches, the CM emphasized the importance of field learning, community trust, and proactive policing.
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that maintaining law and order with zero tolerance is not just a slogan, but a commitment towards ensuring public safety, efficient policing and strong crime vigilance across Uttar Pradesh.
A ‘Golden Opportunity’ for New Officers
According to an official release, CM Yogi Adityanath told the trainee officers that Uttar Pradesh—being one of India’s largest and most diverse States—poses unique challenges in policing.
“The training period must be treated as a golden opportunity to learn, observe and build the foundation for responsible policing,” he said.
He also stressed that maintaining law and order with zero tolerance requires officers to address real-life issues swiftly and satisfactorily. As first responders, he noted, police personnel must earn the trust of victims through promptness, behaviour and clearly aligned priorities.
Focus on Police Station Functioning and Human Intelligence
CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted the need for IPS trainees to thoroughly understand police station operations, investigation procedures, local disputes, administrative roles and duty management.

Calling the police station the “backbone of policing,” he said that human intelligence remains the most effective tool for any officer and is essential for maintaining law and order with zero tolerance across districts.
He added that interaction with local communities, building trust, and ensuring strong field presence significantly strengthen policing at all levels.
Synergy Between Station, Circle and Police Line
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged trainees to clearly understand the roles and challenges of police stations, police circles and police lines. Effective coordination among these three levels, he said, directly improves the district’s security ecosystem and strengthens the State’s goal of maintaining law and order with zero tolerance.
Professional Conduct With Public Representatives
CM Yogi advised the trainees that interactions with public representatives must be dignified and responsible.
“A casual approach is not acceptable. Public representatives carry the voice of the people, and constructive engagement with them contributes to stronger law and order,” he said.
Special Emphasis on Crimes Against Women, Cybercrime and Narcotics
Before concluding, the CM directed trainee officers to remain vigilant about crimes targeting women, fast-growing cybercrime threats and the spread of illegal drug networks—areas that are integral to maintaining law and order with zero tolerance in Uttar Pradesh.
The interaction aimed to motivate the next generation of IPS officers to adopt a citizen-centric, professional and accountable policing model in the State.
