Uorfi Javed alleges harassment by her Mumbai housing society, claiming new rules are preventing her from shooting Instagram Reels at home.
Content creator and actor Uorfi Javed has accused her Mumbai housing society of harassing her by introducing restrictions that she claims are preventing her from shooting social media content inside her apartment. The actor shared her concerns through Instagram Stories on October 27, alleging that the society committee is treating her regular content creation as a commercial activity.
According to Uorfi, the latest restrictions may be connected to an earlier dispute over rules governing visitors entering the residential complex. She had previously raised concerns about these restrictions with the Mumbai Police and now believes the committee’s latest actions could be retaliation for her complaint.
Uorfi Javed Claims Housing Society Is Targeting Her
Uorfi Javed alleged that her housing society has objected to her filming videos inside her own apartment because she shares the content on social media. She questioned why creating Reels at home should be considered commercial activity and argued that residents should have the freedom to carry out their personal work within their homes.
The actor expressed frustration over what she described as unfair treatment. She also pointed out that creating digital content at home has become common, questioning the basis and legality of the alleged restrictions imposed on her.

Actor Links Latest Dispute to Earlier Police Complaint
The controversy follows an earlier disagreement over visitor access to the residential complex. Uorfi had reportedly objected to a rule requiring residents to obtain permission from their landlords for guests entering the premises after 6 PM.
Following the dispute, she approached the Mumbai Police to raise concerns about the restrictions. Uorfi now suspects that the society committee’s latest actions are connected to that complaint.

She further alleged that some society members contacted her landlord and asked her to vacate the apartment. According to the actor, her landlord refused to remove her from the property, but the alleged pressure continued.
Reacting to the situation, Uorfi claimed that the actions of certain society members reflected a personal grudge against her. She also expressed confidence in standing up for herself despite the ongoing disagreement.

Uorfi Questions Checks on Visitors’ Bags
Uorfi also raised concerns about the treatment of people visiting her apartment. She alleged that visitors suspected of carrying cameras or filming equipment were facing additional scrutiny, including checks of their bags at the society’s entrance.
The actor questioned whether a residential committee should be able to impose such restrictions on activities taking place inside a resident’s private home.
She maintained that making videos and other digital content is a regular part of her work and argued that the alleged rules were interfering with her professional activities. However, the society committee’s position and its response to her latest allegations were not included in the account she shared.
Not the First Time Uorfi Has Objected to Society Rules
This is not the first time Uorfi Javed has spoken publicly about the housing society’s visitor policies. In September, she reportedly raised objections on X, formerly known as Twitter, over a restriction that allegedly prevented guests from entering the premises after 10 PM.
She claimed that the rule created difficulties for people visiting her for professional commitments, including interviews and shoots. Uorfi also alleged that visitors were sometimes denied entry unless the flat owner had sent prior permission through email.
The Mumbai Police reportedly responded to her earlier post by asking her to provide the society’s name and address. Uorfi subsequently indicated that she wanted action to be taken over the matter.
The latest allegations have once again brought attention to the dispute between the actor and her housing society. The claims remain Uorfi’s account of the situation, and further details about the committee’s response have not been provided.
Uorfi Javed’s Work Front
Apart from the controversy, Uorfi Javed continues to remain in the spotlight for her television appearances and social media presence. She was recently seen as a mischief maker on the reality show Splitsvilla X6.
