Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami announces ₹40,000 crore development projects under Union Budget 2026. Focus on sustainable growth, tourism, agriculture, local industries, and employment opportunities.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a press conference on Monday and shared details about the impact of the Union Budget 2026-27 on the state. According to the CM, the budget will open new avenues of development and economic growth in Uttarakhand while balancing environmental conservation.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted that under the Union Budget, projects worth ₹40,000 crore will be initiated across Uttarakhand. He emphasized that these projects will not only boost infrastructure but also ensure sustainable development with a focus on preserving the state’s rich natural resources.
The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also pointed out Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s special connection with Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. “The Union Budget has considered the interests of Uttarakhand, ensuring balanced and region-specific development opportunities,” he said. CM Dhami added that the budget reflects the PM’s visionary leadership and India’s commitment to building a developed and self-reliant nation.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami further revealed that Uttarakhand will receive an additional ₹1,800 crore under the 16th Finance Commission. The budget will also boost employment opportunities through mountain trekking trails and skill development programs for guides.
In addition, the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami mentioned plans to promote cultivation of almonds and walnuts. Revival of local industries is expected to create new employment opportunities, and tourism will receive a significant push, generating jobs and supporting local businesses. He also said that a proposal will be sent to the central government for establishing an AYUSH AIIMS in the state, which will strengthen healthcare and integrative medicine infrastructure.
“The Union Budget 2026-27 is designed to support Uttarakhand’s long-term economic growth while integrating environmental protection, tourism, agriculture, and local industries,” CM Dhami concluded.
