Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami vows to stop ‘Land Jihad’ and illegal encroachments. 10,000 acres cleared, 600 structures demolished, and non-compliant madrasas to close by July 2026.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami has firmly stated that the state will not tolerate ‘Land Jihad’ or illegal encroachments. Speaking at the three-day Shabdaotsav event organized in collaboration with the Delhi government, Suruchi Prakashan, and media partner Dainik Jagran, CM Dhami said that 10,000 acres of land have been cleared of encroachments and 600 illegal structures have been demolished.
CM Pushkar Dhami announced that madrasas not following the state-prescribed curriculum will be closed after July 1, 2026. He emphasized that maintaining the cultural and spiritual identity of Uttarakhand, also known as Devbhoomi, is a collective responsibility. The Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami criticized previous governments for neglecting this issue, which allowed external groups to occupy several hill areas and encroach on government land.
Speaking at the ‘Dharmrakshak Dhami’ session with Dainik Jagran’s Associate Editor Anant Vijay, CM Dhami clarified that all illegal encroachments are being removed constitutionally and systematically. The 600 demolished structures did not contain any religious symbols or relics.
CM Pushkar Dhami also revealed plans to hoist the world’s largest Dharmdhwaja in Haridwar, symbolizing Sanatan culture on a global level. He said that Uttarakhand will not allow divisive or tribal mentalities to grow, and education initiatives will benefit all communities fairly.
Faster Road Connectivity to Dehradun
The Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami highlighted rapid development in Char Dham and other religious areas. The Delhi-Dehradun Elevated Road project is nearing completion, allowing travelers to reach Dehradun faster by road rather than flights. To manage future traffic pressure in Dehradun, Rishikesh, and Haridwar, a ring road proposal is also being prepared for smoother connectivity for both tourists and residents.
India’s Unique Cultural Identity: Dr. Manmohan Vaidya
At the event, RSS National Executive Member Dr. Manmohan Vaidya said India is unique as a nation, distinct from Western concepts of nationhood that emerged in the 16th century. He stressed the importance of Swadeshi and minimal dependence on others. Dr. Vaidya criticized the current education system for preparing youth only for jobs, which increases unemployment.
He said India has always been more than an agriculture-based country; it has industrial and artisanal roots. Historically, India did not just sell grains but fed the world, and industries like steel, leather, brass, and textiles thrived in households.
On unity in diversity, Dr. Vaidya stated that India is not merely a collection of diverse cultures but a country with one overarching culture that embraces diversity. He also emphasized that Gen Z is an optimistic and determined generation. Rather than preaching, society should provide opportunities for young people to think critically, ask questions, and explore solutions.
