In order to get ready for the Paris Olympics, Phogat will go to France for a 20-day training camp following her training and competition period in Spain.
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who won the bronze medal at the World Championships, will be permitted to go to Spain to compete after the government helped her obtain a Schengen visa on Wednesday. Despite having her trip scheduled for Wednesday night, Phogat, who is competing in the Grand Prix of Spain 2024 in Madrid, did not receive her visa until this morning.
Since she was unsure of her visa, she first requested “urgent help” from the Ministry of External Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
“To the authorities: I need assistance right away. On June 24, I applied in Bangalore for a Schengen visa. I don’t have any information about a visa, but I have to leave tonight for a competition in Spain on July 6.She posted on ‘X’, ‘I need aid from @mansukhmandviya @BangaloreFrance @MEABharat.
Phogat said that she had received her Schengen visa about three hours later.
