On the occasion of World Forestry Day 2026 (21 March), forestry experts from across the country will gather at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. The event will be graced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as the chief guest.
The national workshop aims to review afforestation, forest conservation, and ecological balance initiatives underway in different states. Experts will share their experiences and discuss strategies to reduce human-wildlife conflict through community participation.
Officials, including Chief Conservators of Forests and department heads from various states, as well as representatives from CAMPA (Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority), will participate in the workshop. The discussions will focus on comparative analysis of afforestation projects, sharing best practices, and developing strategies to implement successful models in other states.

CM Yogi Adityanath will also inaugurate reports and booklets related to Pilibhit Tiger Reserve and Sohelwa Wildlife Division, along with unveiling short films produced by the Forest Department. Certificates of appreciation will be presented to outstanding forest department employees, organizations, and citizens contributing to forestry initiatives.
The workshop will emphasize innovative approaches in afforestation, wildlife protection, and water conservation. Experts will present “Best Practices in Advanced Forestry” from various states, highlighting the use of technology and community engagement to make forest conservation more effective. Farmers involved in agro-forestry will also receive carbon credit checks under CAMPA.
The program will reinforce the importance of World Forestry Day 2026 in promoting forest conservation, sustainable practices, and ecological awareness across the nation.
