CM Yogi Adityanath addresses Noida workers’ protest. Claims a conspiracy to incite unrest and disrupt UP’s industrial growth. Appeals for peace.
Amidst rising tensions in the industrial hubs of Noida, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has broken his silence on the violent workers’ protests that paralyzed the city on Monday. Addressing a public gathering in Muzaffarnagar, the Chief Minister alleged that the sudden unrest is not merely a spontaneous demand for wages but a calculated “conspiracy” by certain elements to derail the state’s progress and peace.
The “Conspiracy” Behind the Chaos
Speaking on the situation, Yogi Adityanath stated that while the “double-engine” government is focused on industrial growth and security, some individuals are actively working to incite the labor force. He emphasized that the administration is building a model based on good governance and service, which is being targeted by those who wish to see the state in turmoil.
“At a time when we are ensuring the safety of the business community and generating employment for our youth, some people are conspiring to spread unrest,” Yogi Adityanath remarked, urging the workers not to fall prey to misinformation.
Violence and Arson in Noida Sectors
The protests, which began as a demand for a fair wage revision and mandatory double overtime pay, turned violent in several pockets of Noida. Incidents of stone-pelting, arson, and vandalism were reported specifically in Phase 2, Sector 60, and Sector 84. Vehicles were torched, and major routes, including National Highway 9, were blocked, causing massive traffic snarls at the Delhi-Noida border.

A Reminder of Government Support
During his address, Yogi Adityanath reminded the labor community of the state’s efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. He recalled how the government arranged safe transport, quarantine centers, and essential facilities for migrant workers during the crisis. He appealed to the workers to remember that his government remains committed to their welfare and will not let their interests be compromised by outside instigators.
“I appeal to all workers across industrial units to remember how the double-engine government stood by them during difficult times. Do not allow yourselves to be used as pawns in a conspiracy,” said Yogi Adityanath.
Police Action Against Misinformation
Parallel to the CM’s statement, the UP Police has taken a tough stand against the spread of rumors. FIRs have been registered against two social media handles for allegedly inciting workers. The police clarified that while the situation was brought under control using “minimum force,” no firing took place, contrary to claims circulating online.
Current Situation and High Alert
With the violence spilling over, the Delhi Police has been put on high alert at all entry points. Additional paramilitary forces have been deployed at the borders to prevent any further escalation. While the workers continue to press for their demands—including strict 8-hour shifts and timely salary slips—the focus of the administration remains on identifying the “conspirators” mentioned by Yogi Adityanath.
